Worcester Cathedral Education Department
The Department, headed by Sue Adeney, promotes the use of the Cathedral as a resource for learning for pupils and students from County and Diocesan Schools, and places of Further and Higher Education.
Such learning includes Cathedral based activities, tours, workshops, conferences, seminars and Teacher INSET days arranged in the Cathedral .All learning is curriculum based to meet the needs of the schools .
The Education Department supports Religious Education, History, Citizenship, and subsidiary studies in English, Maths, Science and Technology, Art and Travel and Tourism.
Funding goes to support part time staff and the training of volunteers and the development further areas of education, and outreach.
The Department is organising a Poetry Competition and taking part in the National Poetry Day this year to coincide with The Dean’s Challenge. The Competition is open to all school pupils in Worcestershire.
